About us. We are the Southern Belles  - one of the many branches of the Country Women's Association of Western Australia (http://www.cwaofwa.asn.au). Proudly reclaiming the skills of our mothers and grandmothers, we continue a tradition of 85 years of fun, friendship and community activism. Pick up the good scissors and join the revolution!

Did you know? The CWA began in Western Australia in 1924 and the aim of the Association then, and still, is to improve the wellbeing of all people, by promoting courtesy, cooperation, welfare in times of need, community effort, ethical behaviour, wise use of resources, friendship and fun.

The CWA has been making a difference in local communities since its inception and, amoung other things, have been instrumental in achieving; itemised telephone bills, 'use by' dates stamped on perishable goods, a children's playground in every town and city in WA, foodstuffs to be labeled with the country of origin (regardless of where it was packed), identification of black spots on roads and much more!

The CWA are active fundraisers for both local and international charities.  Each individual branch votes on which organisations they'd like to support during the year.
